What's New?
The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release.
GAND-28 Remote Viewer utility added to Authorized Devices screen
In the Authorized Devices screen, we have added the Remote Viewer option, enabling you to access and control a POS device remotely from within the Admin Portal. This feature is only available in POS apps running on XC23 and Handheld 2.5 devices, and will be supported on future Android devices. It is not available in POS apps running on iOS, ELO, or Mobile 2.0 devices.
To access the Authorized Devices screen, log into the Admin Console and select an appropriate account and location. In the Admin Console's Main Menu, click Location Setup, then click Authorized Devices. The Authorized Devices screen features a list of all POS devices that are currently (and formerly) within the location's network. Each device listed in the screen includes an Actions list, which enables you to perform various actions to manage the specific device. In the Actions list, we have added the Remote Viewer option. If you click Remote Viewer, the program will open the Remote Viewer panel.
On the left side of the Remote Viewer panel, the program displays the interface of the POS running on the device. The bottom right edge of the POS display features various buttons to zoom in, zoom out, or expand the display to full screen.
On the right side of the Remote Viewer panel, the program displays a panel with information about your current remote session, such as the duration of the session, the amount of data that has been sent to or received from the device, and whether the Data Saver feature is enabled. During the session, if you click Take screenshot, the Admin Portal will save a screenshot of the current POS display. If you click Stop session, the Admin Portal will end the remote session and disconnect from the device.
Before a user can access the Remote Viewer feature, a dealer must give that user permission in the Permissions screen. (Only dealers can provide this permission to users.) Immediately after logging into the Admin Portal, click Users in the Dealer Menu.
In the Users screen, select an existing user. In the user's Settings panel, select the Remote Viewer check box, then click Save.
Updates
The following release notes detail the fixes we have included in this release.
GNX-9641 POS resets Seat++ incremented seat numbers properly
In previous versions, if your location uses the Seat++ feature when seating customers, the POS may have failed to reset the incremented seat number properly. In the Admin Console's Main Menu, click Location Setup, then click Settings. In the location settings screen, click the App Settings tab. In the App Settings tab, the Seat++ list enables you to make the Seat++ option available in the POS. When enabled, it automatically increments seat numbers when a server is adding orders to a ticket.
When you use the Seat++ option in a ticket, the POS increments the seat number each time you add an item to the ticket. Normally, if you tap Send, then access the ticket later to order more items, the POS should reset the first seat number to "1" and increment from there. However, in previous versions, the POS may have reset the first seat number to "3". We have corrected this, and now when you apply the Seat++ increment feature for a ticket, send its items, then return to the ticket to order more items, the POS properly resets the incremented seat number to "1".
