Adding an Employee
To add a new hire, navigate to Administration - Employees
On the right side of the screen, select the the Add Employee button.
An Add Employee window will pop up. Fill out all the information. Note that required items are marked with an asterisk (*).
When you have finished, select Save.
You will then be redirected to the Employee Profile Page. Under the Profile Section are:
- Personal Info
- Contact Info
- Employment Info
- Compensation Info
Contact Info
In the Contact Info section, fill out all the contact information needed.
Then select Continue in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Employment Info
You will next be routed to the Employment Info section. Fill out all the necessary information with required fields being designated with an asterisk (*).
If the employee to be added is a Supervisor, under the Supervisor Information segment select Yes for the question Is this Employee a supervisor?
Should the employee be under another supervisor, choose the name of its supervisor from the Who is this Employee's supervisor dropdown. Select the supervisor's name from the dropdown.
Once complete, select Continue.
Compensation Info
You will then be redirected to the Compensation Info Section. Fill out all the information needed, including pay group.
Select Continue.
Next you will be redirected to the Account Information section
Enter the employee's email and select Send Registration Email when you are ready to give the employee access to their account.
Assign a Template
To assign a template to this person, select Time & Attendance and then on the Overview page, select Assign a Template.
Select the appropriate template from the dropdown that appears.
Enter an Effective Date and select Save.
Add a Time Off Policy
To add a time off policy, select Time Off from the menu on the left and choose Assign New Time Off Policy.
Payroll Information (check stubs, W-2, etc)
Contact your Payroll Support Team to authorize the addition of Employee Self-Service to your
account. Once added, employees will be able to use a single sign-on for both their Self-Service
and Heartland Time.
