Payroll Summary
If Heartland sends payments electronically, those will show in the Third Party Electronic Payment row and will be debited from your account as indicated by the ACH Debit column.
If a check is issued, those amounts will be listed in the Third Party Checks row and shown in the Amount column. If other third-party checks or electronic payments are issued with payroll, those will also be included in the grand totals.
In this example, the account has two employees with child support orders, making the count of third-party electronic payments two.
Payroll Register
When looking at your Payroll Register, the child support orders will appear as line item deductions under each applicable employee. These amounts will total on the second to last page of the register, with a per pay period and a year-to-date amount for each child support order.
Your Payroll Support Team will title the deductions with the employee's name to make them easy to identify. In our example, the employee's name is Zachary Zebra, and the garnishment title “CS - Z. Zebra” translates to “Child Support - Zachary Zebra”.
The Final Page of the Payroll Register
Located on the final page of your Payroll Register is a list of all third-party checks and ACH payments.
Each order and state will be listed, with the case or remittance number and amount. The Check # column will be blank if an ACH payment is being made.
Direct Deposit Register
The Third Party ACH page reflects the employees with child support orders. Each line item will list the state and employee, with the state routing and account numbers partially masked, along with the order amount.
Check Register
Certain states do not allow ACH payment for child support orders or are implementing the ability to submit electronic payments. A live third-party check can be created with payroll for states that are not yet eligible for ACH payments. It is the employer's responsibility to mail the check to the agency address on the order. The Check Register report will list all live checks processed with the current payroll run.
