Tax Information Reminder
As a partner of your payroll, we depend on you, the employer, to provide Heartland Payroll with any information you receive from Federal and State agencies. This helps us to update your account with the most up-to-date tax information, which is essential to accurately calculate and prepare tax returns as part of your payroll service.
Please look out for the following communications and forward them to your Payroll Team:
- Unemployment Tax Rate notices
- ID confirmation for newly opened accounts
- Filing Frequency change notification
- Address change confirmation (IRS only)
- Underpayment/Overpayment notices
- Delinquency notices
It is essential to comply with confidentiality rules and regulations regarding tax agencies. They usually send communications directly to the employer of record to inform them of any activities regarding their tax account. As an employer, you are responsible for quickly forwarding tax-related correspondence to your payroll team. Please be advised that Heartland Payroll cannot be held accountable for penalties resulting from any failure to provide tax correspondence in a timely manner.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your Payroll Team. We are always happy to help. Thank you for choosing Heartland Payroll Solutions for your payroll needs. We look forward to continuing our partnership!
