The Sizes screen includes controls that enable you to define and configure menu item sizes. You can use sizes when a menu item is available in more than one size.
You can create menu item sizes that work best for the location’s menu. For instance, you can define them as general descriptors (such as small, medium, and large), a specific number of items (such as a 6-piece, 9-piece, and 12-piece order of wings), or by specific units of measurements, such as inches for pizza (10”, 12”, and so on) or ounces for steak (8 oz., 12 oz., and so on). If you serve wine, you could offer it by the glass or by the bottle.
To access the Sizes screen, log into the Admin Console, select an appropriate account. In the Admin Console’s Main Menu, click Menu, then click Sizes. In the Sizes screen, click New to create a new menu item.
Name: Type a descriptive name for the new size.
Short Name: If an item has an unusually long name (such as “Small Soft Serve Ice Cream Cone”), you can enter a shorter version of the name (like “Sm Cone”) in the Short Name box.
Or if you have servers that speak different languages, you can set an ingredient’s record so the main Name appears in one language and the Short Name appears in a different language.
Assigned Items: In this list, you can select one or more menu items to associate with this size. Later, when you order a menu item in this list, the POS will display this size as an option to apply to the item. For example, if you create a new size called “Large”, you might assign multiple beverage items to it, such as Coffee, Milk, or Fruit Juice. To delete a menu item from this list, click its Delete button.
Available Online: Select this check box to allow customers to see and apply the size to items when ordering items in the Online Ordering website.
In-Store E-Commerce: Select this check box to allow customers to see and apply the size to items when ordering items in the Skip the Line or Kiosk apps.
