The Menu Groups screen includes controls that enable you to define and configure menu groups, which are sets of menu items with similar features. Menu groups differ from menu sections in that they have a start and end date, which is useful for temporary features like special menus, seasonal menus, or holiday menus. For example, a location might offer a Valentine’s Day menu for the whole month of February or a rotating seasonal menu. Since they have start and end dates, menu groups enable the program to offer that menu for only a specific time period.
To access the Menu Groups screen, log into the Admin Console, select an appropriate account. In the Admin Console’s Main Menu, click Menu, then click Groups. In the Menu Groups screen, click New to create a new menu group.
Name: Type a descriptive name for the menu group.
Start Date: If you select this box, the program will display a calendar panel. In this panel, select the date of the first day when the POS should start displaying this menu group in its menu. If you clear the box, the POS will start displaying the menu group on the current day. For example, you might want to start offering a Valentine’s Day menu group on February 1.
End Date: If you select this box, the program will display a calendar panel. In this panel, select the date of the last day that the POS should display this menu group to staff members. For example, the last day you want to offer the Valentine’s Day menu group is February 29. If you clear the box, the POS will display the menu group every day indefinitely.
Use Specific Hours: If you select this check box, the POS will only allow you to order items in this group within a specific range of hours per day. This enables you to create menu groups that are only available in certain times of day, such as breakfast.
Specific Hours: If the items in this group are only available during certain days of the week or hours of the day, you can use the controls in the Specific Hours list to specify which days and time ranges they are available. These boxes only display if you select the Use Specific Hours check box.
To add a time range to the Specific Hours list, click the Select a Day list and select a day of the week when the item is available for purchase. When you select a day, the program displays the Start Time and End Time boxes for that day. In the Start Time box, enter the time when the item becomes available for purchase. In the End Time box, enter the time of day when the item becomes unavailable for purchase. To delete a time range from this list, click its Delete button.
Assigned Sections: In this list, you can associate the menu group with one or more menu sections. In the Select a Section list, select an appropriate section. This list includes all menu sections you have created in the Sections screen. To delete a section from this list, click its Delete button.
Available Online: Select this check box to allow customers to see the menu group and access its menu items when ordering in the Online Ordering website.
In-Store E-Commerce: Select this check box to allow customers to see the menu group and access its menu items when ordering in Kiosk or Skip the Line.
