Time Entry Options by Pay Group
Payroll → Payroll Settings → Time Entry Options
Your landing page for Payroll Settings displays the Time Entry Options. You can adjust your time entry templates to fit your needs best.
Time Entry Template: Select the preferred template when entering payroll. The template can also be switched as needed in Time Entry by selecting the Change Template link. For example, you may wish to default to your “Regular Template,” but you may change the template multiple times when entering payroll if you need to bring different columns in the view.
Average Overtime Weeks: (Optional) Designate your overtime standards. Contact your Payroll Support Team to discuss this section.
Time Entry in Minutes: Toggle this to YES if you prefer to enter your payroll in a Minutes format instead of a Decimal format.
💡 When Time Entry in Minutes is toggled to Yes, the decimal portion of any hours keyed or imported will be treated as minutes. For example, 8.45 would be treated as 8 hours and 45 minutes and converted to 8.75 hours when the payroll is processed.
Minute to Decimal Conversion Chart
When the slider is toggled to Yes, the data entered in the Time Entry Grid in Minutes will convert to a minutes:hours format. Use the chart below to assist you in the conversion.
Time Entry Warnings by Pay Group
Payroll → Payroll Settings → Time Entry Options
You can enter specific dollar and hourly amounts that, if exceeded, will display a Red Flag in that cell. We recommend entering an amount that is greater than your regular payroll. For example, a bi-weekly payroll with normal working hours being 80 could be set at 90 hours. For example, You accidentally enter an extra 0, so the employee is about to be paid for 800 hours rather than 80. If the Maximum Hours Warning is set to 90, a red flag warning will appear so that you can review it before proceeding, which prevents costly mistakes before they happen.
💡 These are only Warnings to keep you informed. It will not prevent the employee’s check from being generated; these are simply warnings to advise you.
Maximum Dollars Warning: Input a dollar amount that, if exceeded in the Time Entry Grid, will result in a Red Flag informing you of the discrepancy.
Maximum Hours Warning: Enter an hourly amount that, if exceeded in the Time Entry Grid, will generate a Red Flag advising you of the discrepancy.
Maximum Net Pay Warning: Input a Net Pay amount that, when exceeded in the Time Entry Grid, will generate a Red Flag. Not commonly used.
Maximum Rate Warning: Input an hourly rate that, when exceeded in the Time Entry Grid, will generate a Red Flag. Not commonly used.

You must have a Template selected from the dropdown for the warnings to display.
Example of Time Entry Warnings:
Below is an example of the Dollar and Hour warning limits and the visuals you’d see when entering payroll data. Hover over the Red Flags to learn why the red flag is in each cell.
💡 The employee will still have a paycheck generated even when the Warning Limit is exceeded. This is a Warning to notify you that the hours or dollars are outside of the payroll processing target preferences.
