Payroll → Time Entry → Time Entry Grid
The Time Entry Grid is where payroll data is entered, such as employee hours and dollar amounts.
Time Entry Grid: Column Headers
Name: A roster of available active employees. The default sort will be in ascending order by Last Name, First Name.
💡 The employee names are links that will take you directly to the Employee Summary screen when selected. This is a helpful shortcut if you need to make a permanent change in the employee’s profile.
ITE (Individual Time Entry): The Paper icon in the ITE column is a shortcut to a specific employee's Individual Time Entry screen. You can also access ITE from the top of the Time Entry Grid by selecting the Individual Time Entry tab.
Single Employee View: ITE allows you to enter payroll for one employee at a time, make overrides easily, and create additional checks as needed. You can preview the employee’s check here by selecting the Eye icon under Actions.
Salary/Rate: Displays the current Per Pay Salary or Hourly Rate.
Block: Blocks the Salary (or Hours for an Auto-Hourly employee) for the current pay period.
💡 Don’t Block a Salary when entering Sick/PTO/Vacation. The system will automatically decrease the Normal Salary Amount and Hours when inputting Sick/Vacation/PTO hours to avoid paying the employee more than usual.
[See Time Entry Grid Examples #1 & #2].
Total Hours: Totals the hours entered on the grid for the employee. All hours will total in this column when using labor allocation in the grid.
Department: When applicable, use this column to assign a department to specific hours/dollars when allocating labor to multiple departments.
Earn Hrs (Hours): Input the hours corresponding to the earning.
Earn $ (Dollar): Input the exact amount corresponding to the proper earning.
