If your company is set up to use Heartland Retail roles and permissions, you can control whether a role has access to item cost and margin information.

From Settings > Roles, select a role. The role settings includes a View item cost and margin information option as a toggleable button.

Turning off the View item cost and margin information option hides:

• Cost information and cost history on Items and Grids pages.
• The Sold Margin widget on the sales dashboard.
• Customer history and customer dashboard sold margin information.
• Cost information on purchasing receipts and purchasing returns.

Important: Users that have access to cost information so that they can perform sensitive functions, such as adjusting inventory and viewing purchase orders, will still be able to see the cost when View item cost and margin information is disabled.
