Heartland offers three types of employee payment options.
- Direct Deposit
- Live Check
- Prepaid Card
Gross Pay vs. Net Pay
Gross Pay: Gross pay is what employees earn before taxes, benefits, and other payroll deductions are withheld from their wages.
Net Pay: The amount remaining after all withholdings are deducted. Also known as Take-Home Pay.
Direct Deposit Requirements
In order for a Heartland Representative or Client to input a new bank account or update a current one, we will need a completed Authorization for Direct Deposit form and a confirmation related to the bank account. Employers can allow different documentation other than what is listed.
Acceptable documentation for a direct deposit change:
- A voided check from the issuing bank
- A letter from the bank provided on bank letterhead (signed and dated)
- Screenshots from Online Banking must show the company name and the routing and account numbers
- Deposit slips, only if the routing number is on the deposit slip and designated “ACH Routing”
Use the Pre-Note status to ensure an account validation is completed. When providing the forms to your Payroll Support Team to enter, we will pre-note all bank accounts that are not accompanied by one of the accepted bank documents (voided check, bank letter, or deposit slip).
