Employees → Employee Pay → Pay Rate
Displays the employee’s current pay information at the top of the grid.
Always select Add Pay Rate when changing an hourly rate or salary amount. The Add Pay Rate button creates a historical log of the employee’s pay rates.
Only select the Pencil icon to edit the current pay rate or salary amount if it was entered incorrectly and needs to be adjusted.
Viewing Current Pay Rate Information
Selecting the Pencil icon opens a new window to view the current pay data.
Effective Date: Date the pay rate went into effect.
Pay Type: Hourly, Salary, 1099, Commission, etc. [See Adding a New Pay Rate → Pay Type section for full details]
Pay Group: The default is the organization’s pay frequency. If more than one pay group exists, assign the employee’s specific pay group. Pay Groups can be set up to group employees for different pay rules, such as: pay frequencies, locations, or to separate reporting.
Frequency: The frequency at which the employee will be paid (important for correct tax calculation). This is typically the same as the pay group. Only edit this field if the employee is paid at a different pay frequency (this is uncommon).
Normal Hours: Defaults to the Pay Frequency’s normal hours. Example: Weekly hours are 40, and Bi-weekly hours are 80.
Percent Increase: Cannot be changed on the Edit Pay Rate screen.
Annual Salary, Per Pay Salary, and Hourly Rate: If you edit one of these three fields, the other two will calculate accordingly as they are linked.
