Access Timesheet Blocks by navigating to Administration - Timesheet Settings.
Creating the Template
To add a new template, select the Add Template button.To edit an existing template, select the edit icon next to the relevant template.
Select the Timesheet Blocks tab.
From UI Blocks on the left, drag the In / Out Time widget into the Timesheet Template Preview section in the middle of the screen.
Configuration
In / Out Time Entry
The information added here will capture the times an employee has started and stopped working based on their manual entries, and what activities were performed at this time.
Data to Collect
You may specify required or optional data which will appear on the associated employees’ timesheets in this section. Users will be prompted to include this information when performing any of the associated actions. Data collection can be associated with:
- Work
- Break
To choose data to collect, select the Add New Field link, and select which custom or group field to add.
Additional Settings
Under additional setting, select which data you would like to collect:
Jobs: set as required, optional, or disabled (this will hide the field)
Display Time Off Info: This indicator will determine whether time off information is displayed on the time sheet. Comments can be set to be required, optional, or disabled.
Breaks
Manually Enter Break Time: Determine whether you wish employees to enter their break time.
Automatic Breaks: Alternately, you can set break time to be automatically recorded.
If setting this, you can specify whether you want to:
- Reduce the break duration to ensure that the clock out time remains constant.
- Reduce the work duration to ensure that the clock out time and break duration remain constant,
- Extend the clock out time to insert the break.
Add Break Type:
For automatic breaks, you can set the criteria for how breaks are automatically recorded. You may set the number of hours of continuous for when to insert a break, and the amount:
Rounding
You can set up rounding for time entries, to be rounded up, down, or to the nearest specified interval.
Allocation
Specify how you would like time to be allocated if a shift goes over calendar days. You may:
- Split time across work days.
- Allocate the entire shift’s hours to the shift start day, or
- Allocate the entire shift’s hours to the shift end day.
You can select Save to continue working on the Timesheet Template, or if you are finished, select Save & Publish to make the timesheet template available for use and assigning to individual employees.
