If you wish to have employees log in the specific amount of time that they have worked, but do not need login or logout times, you may use duration-based time entry.
You can access Timesheet Blocks by navigating to Administration - Timesheet Settings, and when creating a new template or editing an existing one, select the Timesheet Blocks tab.
Drag the Duration Based Time block to the Timesheet Template Preview.

The configuration here captures time as a duration worked on jobs.
Data to collect
You can capture data from employees on their timesheet at the row level or the individual cell level. Identify whether you wish these fields to be required to be filled out by the employee, or if they are optional.
Additional Settings
Jobs: Specify whether employees will be required to enter individual job information. This can be set to Required, Optional, or you may disable this field.
Display Time Off Info: This indicator will determine whether Time Off balances are reported on the timesheet.
Comments: You may require employees to add comments with their time entries, you may make it optional, or you may disable this field.
You can select Save to continue working on the Timesheet Template, or if you are finished, select Save & Publish to make the timesheet template available for use and to be assigned to individual employees.
