Determine the Model
Ingenico iCT220 and iCT250 version 3 is required to support PIN debit. Determine the version of an Ingenico device, for the type you have.
- For iCT220: A number is displayed next to the lock graphic. The number 1 displays for PCI PTS V2 terminals.
- For iCT220: The number 3 displays for PCI PTS V3 terminals and there is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) sticker on the bottom of a V3 device.
- For iCT250: The lock graphic displayed is blue for PCI PTS V3 and yellow for PCI PTS V2. There is an FCC sticker on the bottom of a V3 device.
Power cycle the terminal, to view the profile. A PCI PIN Entry Device (PED) V2 terminal has a profile of A98. A PCI PIN Transaction Security (PTS) V3 terminal has a profile of C98.
The box label has the profile loaded in the terminal. A PCI PED V2 terminal has a sticker with #####/A98. A PCI PTS V3 terminal has a sticker with 3_#####/C98.
Important: If the PIN Pad is blank during a PIN Debit transaction, and the PIN prompt does not display, updates are required to the application settings. Call customer care for help, they will troubleshoot and change the idle timeout or remove auto close. Then they will help you perform an application update.
Errors
LLT: A PIN pad displays LLT during a software update. Call customer care for help. You might need to reapply the most recent update.
PIN PAD OUT OF ORDER: The version of the terminal and the PIN pad is different. This error displays when a V2 PIN Pad is connected to a V3 iCT terminal. It also displays when a V3 PIN Pad is connected to a V2 iCT terminal.
PIN ENTRY ERROR IPP: Six consecutive PIN Debit Sale transactions can cause this error. It is a security feature. Wait 30 seconds, then retry the PIN Debit Sale.
NOT ALLOWED WITH PIN PAD DISABLED: Updates are required to the application settings. Call customer care for help, they will troubleshoot and change the PINPAD parameter. Then they will help you perform an application update.
PIN PAD NOT ENABLED: Updates are required to the application settings. Call customer care for help. They will troubleshoot and change the PINPAD parameter. They will help you perform an application update, if necessary.
TSA 029: This error occurs when a terminal is starting up while an IPP220 PIN pad connected. Call customer care for help. This pin pad is at end of life and is causing the error.
Reconnect and Retry
Some PIN Pad errors can be resolved by reconnecting the PIN Pad and trying again. This includes:
- 1 - PINPAD NOT OPEN
- 2 - ERROR ACCESS PINPAD
- 3 - ERROR RELEASE PINPAD
- 4 - CANNOT INIT PINPAD
- 5 - ERROR READING PINPAD
- 6 - ERROR WRITING PINPAD
You can attempt to clear these errors on your own:
- Unplug the PIN Pad, and then reconnect it, ensuring it is plugged into the USB Host port.
- Power cycle the terminal.
- Retry the transaction.
Call Customer Service
Call customer care for help if these errors are not easily resolved, as indicated:
- 0 - NO RESULT AVAILABLE
- 7 - ERR INVALID PARAMETER
- 8 - FUNC NOT SUPPORTED
- 9 - FUNCTION ABORTED: Cancel is pressed on the PIN pad. Retry the transaction.
- 10 - FUNC ABORTED AT TERM: Cancel is pressed on the PIN pad. Retry the transaction.
- 12 - TIME OUT: The PIN entry time limit is exceeded. Retry the transaction.
- 14 - TOO MANY PIN ATTEMPTS: An invalid PIN is entered. Ask the cardholder to contact their bank.
- 11 - NO KEY INJECTED: Call customer care for help. They will troubleshoot the PIN pad encryption. If needed, they can order a replacement PIN pad or terminal.
- 13 - 1M KEY ROLLS EXCEEDED: PIN pad re-injection is needed. Call customer care for help. They can order a replacement PIN pad or terminal.
- 15 - INVALID PIN BLOCK: Call customer care for help. They will troubleshoot the PIN pad encryption. If needed, they can order a replacement PIN pad or terminal.
- 16 - INVALID KEY: Call customer care for help. They will troubleshoot the PIN pad encryption. If needed, they can order a replacement PIN pad or terminal.
