If you wish to use the Punch In/Out features on an iPad while remaining hands free, you may set up the app to accept voice commands.
Configuration
To accept voice commands, you must first configure the device to be voice-enabled. Navigate to Administration – Time Clock Devices:
Choose the device you wish to have voice enabled, and click on the edit icon on the right:
Select the Voice Commands toggle and select Save.
Using Voice Commands
Once the device is enabled, they may use voice commands to perform the following basic functions.
By default Time Clock punches can be done by using the following commands:
To Clock in, a user may say “Clock In” or “Start Shift.”
To transfer between different jobs, a user must say “Transfer.”
To take a break, a user may say either “Take a Break” or “Start Break.”
At the end of a break, and to resume work, a user may say either “End Break”, or “Resume Work.”To clock out at the end of a shift, a user may say either Clock out" or "End shift".
It is important to note that the actions taken by an employee are dependent on their current state.
- Employees who are clocked out are only able to do “Clock In” punches
- Employees who are clocked in can do any of the following: "Transfer", "Take a Break" or "Clock out."
- When an employee is on a break, they may either “Resume Work” or “Clock Out.”
