Overview
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a Federal tax credit available to employers for hiring individuals from certain target groups who have consistently faced significant barriers for employment. WOTC joins other workforce programs that incentivize workplace diversity and facilitate access to good jobs for American workers.
Target groups consist of:
- Unemployed Veterans.
- Temporary assistance for needy family's recipients.
- Food stamp recipients.
- Designated community residents.
- Vocational rehabilitation individuals.
- Ex-felons.
- SSI recipients.
- Summer youth employees.
The first time you go to this screen, if you have no applicants yet, you will see something that looks like this:
You can watch a video about the process, screen candidates, or speak to a Tax Credit Expert.
Once you have begun the process you will see all the WOTC eligible applicants that have been considered. You can select the candidates hired to process the WOTC claim request.
